In the 19th century the Bohemian spa resort Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad) was the height of fashion.
Today we come to admire this old-world appeal, the grand 19th-century spa architecture, enriched with baroque promenades, impressive colonnades and Art Nouveau hotels, and of course, health-restoring sulphurous thermal springs.
It would be interesting to get to know the Loket Castle where the Czech king and Roman emperor Charles IV came to rest and hunt game, before coming to Karlovy Vary.
